Are you into bodybuilding or do you just want to grow some more muscle?
For some of us putting on muscle can be quite a challenge. It can be quite frustrating working hard pumping iron and eating a high protein diet, but get little in the way of actual muscle growth. It is the curse of the hardgainer – person who has a hard time putting on muscle, no matter what he tries.
I have recently discovered that lifting weights or pumping iron isn’t always the best way to stimulate muscle growth. The body can become accustomed to certain movements and lighting weight over a short period of time. So, I have started to mix things up by joining a mixed martial arts club and focusing on body weight exercises.
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a program called No Nonsense Muscle Building. And that is what the program is about, building muscle without any hype – no supplements, protein powders, muscle enhancers or even a gym membership. It is an intense body weight program design specifically for hardgainers. It is a tough program that most gym rats would find hard to get through. Below are a few tips I learnt from the program.
Tips for hardgainers:
- Start doing body weight exercises such as squats, mountain climbers, push ups, burpees and lunges.
- Do very intense short workouts that make you sweat.
- Avoid all processed foods
- Focus more on stimulating your muscle rather than worrying about how much weight you are pushing
